By your side through every moment of your journey into parenthood
Who We Are
-
Three Moon Motherhood is a Michigan-based registered nonprofit dedicated to expanding equitable access to perinatal support for families during pregnancy, birth, and the transition into parenthood. We recently obtained our 501(c)(3) status, and our mission centers on providing holistic, family-centered care alongside free, accessible community education that empowers parents with knowledge, confidence, and support. Led by a team of passionate and highly skilled perinatal professionals, we strive to influence more positive birth stories and ensure more families feel genuinely supported through childbirth and beyond.
-
We seek to de-medicalize birth wherever possible. Not by rejecting necessary medical care, but by challenging the routine pathologization of a process that is often physiological. This approach is rooted in improving outcomes and reducing unnecessary interventions. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that optimal cesarean rates for improved maternal and neonatal health outcomes fall between 10–15%, yet the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that the U.S. cesarean rate was 32.3% in 2023 — more than double that range. These patterns disproportionately impact Black birthing people, who continue to face significantly higher rates of maternal morbidity, mortality, and surgical birth due to systemic inequities in care. We envision a birth culture that prioritizes presence over procedure, informed choice over routine intervention, and community support as essential to safer, more equitable outcomes.
-
We envision a world where every family feels supported, informed, and held throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. A world where care is rooted in dignity, choice, and community connection.
